Product Description

As the automotive industry accelerates toward zero-emission mobility, the need for robust diagnostics across electric vehicle systems has become critical. ZEVonUDS (SAE J1979-3) defines the next generation of Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) diagnostics by extending UDS (ISO 14229-1) services to monitor and verify EV specific subsystems including traction battery, inverter, motor controller, and charging systems.

ElectRay’s eSAR.ZEVonUDS Stack is a production-grade, AUTOSAR-compliant diagnostic solution that brings SAE J1979-3 compliance to modern EV architectures. Built on the proven UDS foundation (ISO 14229-1), it provides seamless integration across CAN, CAN-FD, and optional DoIP, enabling advanced cloud-connected diagnostics for battery-electric and hybrid-electric vehicles.

Integrated Support Includes:

  • ZEV specific diagnostic services for traction battery, inverter, and charger monitoring
  • EV focused DTC status and event management aligned with UDS semantics
  • Seamless integration across CAN, CAN-FD, and optional DoIP communication channels

With its low memory footprint, ready-to-use configuration, and hardware independence, eSAR.ZEVonUDS helps OEMs and suppliers deliver compliant, reliable, and scalable zero-emission diagnostics from ECU to Cloud.

ElectRay’s eSAR.ZEVonUDS Stack ensures interoperability, compliance, and future-readiness, making it the ideal diagnostic foundation for next-generation electric and hybrid vehicles.

With a standalone configuration tool, OEMs can easily tailor ZEVonUDS parameters to fit program-specific needs. The stack supports both AUTOSAR-based and non-AUTOSAR (legacy) ECUs and is optimized to run on ECUs with limited resources.
